Joseph Robert White, 76, of Hooksett, NH, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2024, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH after a lengthy illness. Joe was born June 26, 1947, in Pembroke, MA and was a son of the late Robert and Norma (Benassi) White. He was raised and educated in Pembroke and was a resident of Hooksett for the past 20 years.
Joe served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as an Air Traffic Controller and served as a FAA controller until the PATCO strike of 1980. He later worked for USPS for many years. Joe was a licensed pilot and operated a single engine Cessna. He enjoyed photography, guns and shooting sports and time spent with his family. He also enjoyed socializing with friends at the Deerhead Sportsman’s Club.
Members of the family include his three sons, Michael J. & Sheryl White, Christoher J. & Stephanie White and Eugene White. Six grandchildren, Mallory, Chris, Katrina, Amanda, Brandon and Addison and two great grandchildren, Kennedy and Eloise. He is also survived by his longtime companion Shari Bangs and her son Sam.
After cremation, the family is planning services for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
