Obituary

Mr. Richard C. Couture, 86, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2023, at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The son of the late Clarence and Lillian (Berube) Couture, he was born on December 19, 1937, in Lawrence. Mr. Couture attended Sacred Heart Grammer School, Central Catholic High School, then went on to two years in the Marist brothers of Tyngsboro. He left the Seminary in 1960 to join the Army, where he served honorably and attained the rank of Specialist. When Mr. Couture returned home, He worked for a few years at GE, then worked for thirty years till his retirement at Compugraphics, later renamed AGFA as a mechanical technician. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 67, enjoyed flying kites, music, and was devoted to the Virgin Mary. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Along with his parents he was pre-deceased by his sister Aline Couture. Mr. Couture is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia (Hamel) Couture of Salem, NH, three sons: Timothy Couture and his wife Julie of Danville, NH, Todd Couture and his wife Olivia of Spickard, MO, and Troy Couture and his wife Kelly of Derry, NH. There are two brothers: Ronald Couture of Methuen, and Gary Couture and his wife Donna of Kingston, NH. Five grandchildren: Natalie, Alyssa, Christopher, Audrey, and Corbin, along with many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Couture’s memory to Nevins Nursing and Rehab 10 Ingalls Ct, Methuen, MA 01844.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Theresa Church, in Methuen at 10:00 am burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
