Obituary

CHICOPEE – Brenda (Lavallee) Pittsinger Bauer, 66, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Methuen, MA on October 17, 1957, a beloved daughter of the Marion R. (Cuccurullo) Lavallee Jackson of Jacksonville, FL and the late Eugene E. Lavallee, Sr. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had lived in Chicopee most of her life. She was self-employed as a nail technician for many years in Chicopee and South Hadley and had owned and operated Fancy Fingers. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers and her gardens, making her own famous rose brandy from her own roses, cooking and making her own clothing and clothing for her family. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her mother, she leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Lawrence A. “Larry” Bauer. They were married on August 27, 1994 at Holyoke and were blessed with over 29 years of happiness together. She is survived by three loving sons, Matthew J. Pittsinger of New York, NY, Glenn R.D. Pittsinger, Jr. and his partner, Sambeth, of Indian Orchard and Zachariah I. Pittsinger and his partner, Erica, of Agawam and now joins her deceased loving son in heaven, Jeremiah C. “Jeremy” Pittsinger who was Called Home on March 29, 2009. She also leaves her five cherished grandchildren, Arya, Elijah, Hunter, Xavier and Devon; her six dear siblings, Charlene Abramowicz and her husband, Edward, of Chicopee, Eugene Lavallee, Jr. of Daytona Beach, FL, Paul Lavallee of Springfield, Michael Lavallee and his wife, Kathie, of Chicopee, Kathy Welch and her husband, Kenneth, of Chicopee and Gregory Lavallee of Jacksonville, FL; her two dear sisters in law, Pamela Foster and her husband, Timothy, of Southwick and Karen Hoy and her husband, Steve, of Monson; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
