Sophia Denise Flett, age 31, passed away on Monday, January 15th. Raised and educated in Everett, she was the daughter of Michelle Flett, and David Taylor Flett, Jr. and his loving companion, Lisa Komorny. Sophia waitressed at many restaurants and was known as a hard worker. She was generous, kind and caring, and was beautiful inside and out. Sophia had a genuinely beautiful smile that lit up any room. She was very funny, had a great sense of humor and was a light of joy to her many friends and family. Sophia loved family and music, and especially loved cheerleading for the Everett Huskies. She had a passion for cheerleading and was fearless. Sophia made a difference in people’s lives and had a positive impact on many, always putting others first.
Sophia was the dear sister of David Taylor Flett, III and his loving companion, Macy Vercellini, Jayla Amber Spero with whom she shared a special bond, and Miranda and Lindsey Komorny. She was the loving aunt of David T. Flett, IV. Sophia was the cherished granddaughter of Roberta "Granny" Ruszkowski, and Robert "Papa Doos" Ruszkowski and his loving companion, Kathy Ruszkowski, and David Taylor Flett, Sr., and the late Marion “Nonna” Birch and her late husband “Papa Vic” Birch. She is survived by her aunts and uncles: Denise Ruszkowski and her loving companion William Silva, Robert Ruszkowski and his wife Deana, Robert McCarron and his wife Eva, Marion Benoit, Beth Spinosa and her husband Frank, Nicole Galbadis and her husband Steven, and Francis Birch and his wife Trista. Sophia was predeceased by her dear cousin Jesse Breon, and is survived by many more loving cousins, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, January 24th at 5:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 2 PM through 5:30 PM. Interment will be private.
