TEWKSBURY: Muriel M. (Simmons) Haithwaite, age 87, a resident of North Tewksbury for over 40 years, died Tuesday, July 4th, 2006 at home with her husband by her side.
She was the wife of 52 years to G. Raymond Haithwaite.
Born in Plymouth on July 10, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Grace E. (Watson) (Simmons) Hayes.
Mrs. Haithwaite was raised in Plymouth and attended Plymouth and Lowell schools.
Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was employed as a customer service representative by the Union National Bank of Lowell, where she worked for 40 years.
Mrs. Haithwaite was a member of the Christ Church United of Lowell.
She enjoyed traveling especially on her nine trips to Bermuda, a United States and Canadian cross country train trip, which included stops along the west coast and Napa Valley, Denver, CO and Chicago, IL. In addition, she was an accomplished oil painter and had completed numerous cross- stitch cloths.
Besides her husband, survivors include; Robert Hayes and his wife Kathleen of Pelham, NH, Walter Hayes of Syracuse, NY, George Raymond Haithwaite, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Ft. Collins, CO; George Raymond Haithwaite, III and his wife Christina, Sharon Rae Morrison and her husband J.R, George Raymond Haithwaite, IV, Emily Rae Haithwaite and Jack Morrison.
Calling hours Friday, July 7th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services Saturday, July 8th, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Lowell Lions Club, c/o Marcel Plouffe, Treasurer, 97 Elm St., Dracut, MA 01826 are requested.
