Obituary

LACONIA ---- James ‘Jim’ Anderson, 71, of Laconia, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Jim was born on March 31, 1952, in New Richmond, WI, the son of Williard and Patricia (Casey) Anderson.
Jim received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and received his Master’s Degree from Wichita State University in Kansas. He retired after 30 years at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS where he was employed as an aeronautical engineer in the commercial and military division, and after five years from Cesena & Lear Fan, a total of 35 years in the aircraft industry. Jim had his private pilot’s license and for a short time was a flight instructor. His engineering career gave him a huge sense of pride and satisfaction.

He retired to Laconia, NH in 2013 to where he could enjoy all that the area offered. He loved the season’s outdoor activities. Jim loved to travel and some of his fondest memories were family trips to Mexico and scuba diving there. Jim joined the Downtown Gym Laconia for their Parkinsons program ‘Rock Steady Boxing’ when the program began. He was a proud member of the program and developed close relationships with many.

Among all of Jim’s accomplishments, he was most proud of his sons and their families. He was known to many as the “Neighborhood Dad”. His grandchildren brought him great joy and pride! Jim will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Hope (Maynard) Anderson, sons James Anderson and his wife Katie and Joseph Anderson and his wife Cody, grandchildren, Onna Piper Anderson, Wesley James Anderson, Reid Parker Anderson, and William Tate Anderson, siblings, Mary Dubois and husband Jerry of New Richmond, WI, Tom Anderson of New Richmond, WI, Bill Anderson of IL, Fr. John Anderson of New Richmond, WI, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by nephews Andrew Dubois, Keith Banning and Wayne Banning, and his three sisters-in-law, June, Lee and Sharon.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the spring in New Richmond, WI.
