Vincent J. “Jimmy” Petringa, age 99, of Wakefield passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Born in Boston he was the beloved son of the late Concetto and Maria (Vasallo) Petringa. Loving husband of the late Rita E. (Corbisiero) Petringa. Dear brother of the late Joseph Petringa, Josephine Petringo, Annette “Pepper” Sutera, Salvatore Petringa, Vito J. Petringa, and Dominic Petringa. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jimmy lived and worked in Medford for the majority of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired as a Lieutenant of the Medford Fire Department. He was very proud of his service to his Country and his City. He was a devoted husband to his wife Rita for 65 years and cared for her during her illness. Jimmy loved going out to restaurants, music, and dancing, and could be frequently heard serenading his friends and caretakers.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM through 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, 175 Broadway, Malden following the visitation at 11:30 AM.
