LOWELL—John P. McAnespie, 66 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Monday July 3rd, at Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston. He was the husband of Vera N. (Curley) McAnespie, who survives him.
He was born in Lowell, on September 8, 1939, a son of the late James E. and Anna (Hanley) McAnespie, and was a graduate of St. Peter’s Grammar School and Lowell Trade School.
Mr. McAnespie had been employed for many years as a Supervisor by the former GenRad Corporation, in Concord. More recently he had been employed as a Music Teacher by Johnson Music, in Dracut. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, and was an active volunteer with Lowell Youth Skating Association.
Surviving him besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law: John P. and Judy McAnespie, II, of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law: Robin and Darrel Foster, of Lowell; a brother and sister-in-law: James E. and Betty McAnespie, of Lowell; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary and Paul Desjardins, of Lowell; a brother-in-law: Anthony Mello, of Dracut; four grandchildren: Ashley, Christina and Colleen McAnespie and Meg Foster, all of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Katherine Mello, and brother-in-law of the late John Curley.
Friends may call on Friday, July 7th, from 4 to 8 PM, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Saturday, July 8th, at 10 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
