Obituary

Nancy Marion (Leary) Trippi, a resident of Lawrence, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the Lawrence General Hospital. Nancy was born in Northborough, Massachusetts, on August 26, 1924 and spent most of her life living in Worcester. She had been living in Lawrence, with her daughter for the past several years.

Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late William and Anna (Reynolds) Leary of Worcester. She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Trippi of Lawrence, beloved niece; Anne Laverty of Worcester, son; Charles F. Trippi and his wife Gail of Shrewsbury and daughter-in-law; Sharon Trippi of West Boylston. Nancy was blessed with grandchildren; Heather (Trippi) Simpson and her husband Sean of Westminster, Holly Trippi and her partner Seth Youmans of North Grafton and Heath Trippi of Shrewsbury. She adored her great-grandchildren; Anabelle and Charles Simpson of Westminster. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Anthony J. and Trippi and son, Paul A. Trippi.

Nancy graduated from St. Peters High School and the Worcester Art Museum School of Art. She taught art briefly in the Worcester Public Schools before her marriage and retired from the Shrewsbury Public School, having taught art there for many years. Upon her retirement, she studied Chinese brush painting at the Worcester Art Museum and became quite accomplished in this art form. She and her husband, Anthony, were avid golfers and played at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, for many years. She enjoyed the camaraderie of the women golfers and cherished her friendships there. Most importantly, Nancy was a devoted wife and mother and brought joy to all who knew her. She had a spirit filled with laughter and warmth, which she shared with all. Although we were blessed to have Nancy with us for 99 years, her absence will be felt by those who loved her.

There will be no services at this time. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring in Worcester. Donations in her honor may be made to the Worcester Art Museum, Attn. Development Office, 55 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Andover.
