Robert Lee Kirkland, 74, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Magnolia Manor in Moultrie. A visitation will be held for Mr. Kirkland on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born April 3, 1949, in Brunswick, Mr. Kirkland was the son of the late W. I. Kirkland, Sr. and Montine Flancher Kirkland. He was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter. Before retiring, he worked with the Department of Transportation. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. He loved old cars, guns, hunting and fishing and he adored his little dog, Suzie.
Mr. Kirkland is survived by his wife, Barbara Bojorquez Kirkland of Tifton ; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Asonda Kirkland of Omega; one daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Ray Cooper of Berrien County; two brothers and sisters-in-law, W. I. Jr. and Peggy Kirkland of Forsyth and Buddy and Geneva Kirkland of North Carolina; one sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Buddy Lynn of Georgetown; nine grandsons; five granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
