Rita Baratta, of Tewksbury and a former longtime resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was 90 years old. Rita is the beloved wife of the late Alfred P. Baratta. Born in Hartford, CT she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Cleopatra (Mandarakis) Bavelas.
Rita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed caring for home always making sure it was warm and welcoming place for her to share time with her family. Over the years, Rita enjoyed spending the summer months in Wells, Maine where the family made many wonderful lasting memories. She also enjoyed socializing with her neighbors and friends at Emerald Court in Tewksbury. Rita greatest joy was her family and she was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Karen Baratta of Somerville and her partner Brian Eberlin, Alison Petrino and her husband John of Billerica. She was the loving grandmother of Mandy Moberger and her husband Aaron, Nicholas Petrino, Jesse Petrino and his wife Ayaka. She is also survived by her great grandson Alexander Moberger. Sister of the late Alec Bavelas, Mary Avedikan, and Tina Stamos.
