Mrs. Mary G. (Brown) Abbott, a resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Abbott, passed away at the Katzman Family Center for Living in Chelsea on Sunday evening, December 17, 2023. She was 93 years old.
She will be missed by her loving daughters and their families - Helen A. and her husband Robert M. Simmons of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Wakefield, Audrey S. and her husband Paul S. Abate of Chelsea and Dorothy M. and her husband Frank E. Seamster of Medford; five grandchildren – Andrew and his wife Suzanne Simmons, Stephanie Simmons Walsh and her husband, Michael, Kevin Seamster, and Owen and his wife Grace Seamster and Alicia Abate; and five great grandchildren - Dylan, Camden, Braden, Brynlee and William. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford and loved to do puzzles and was an avid speller. She had been employed as a CNA at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, for many years. Mary was a member of the 6th Marine Division Lady Auxiliary. Mary will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 4 to 8 PM at the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be sent to Rosie's Place http://www.rosiesplace.org .
