Obituary

Richard Michael Kasilowski, Jr., 62, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away on Thursday, December 7 peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer with his family by his side.

A son of the late Richard M. Kasilowski and the late Patricia R. (Pierce) Kasilowski, he was born on August 13, 1961 in Lowell. He was raised and educated in Lowell and was brought up in South Lowell’s Swede Village neighborhood.

Dickie worked at the City of Lowell School Department for over 20 years. he then worked in the construction trade for several years before illness forced his early retirement. He was a big fan of all the local sports teams and he enjoyed supporting the Massachusetts State Lottery playing scratch tickets from time to time. He had an easy going personality and loved to work outside, especially in the yard, anyone’s yard. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was always the first one to lend a hand or help out when anyone needed anything.

He is survived by his 2 beloved daughters, Patricia Kasilowski of Lowell, Kristen Kasilowski and her fiancé, Evan Rocha, of Lowell, his 2 brothers, James Kasilowski and his wife, Colleen, of Lowell, Thomas Kasilowski and his wife, Lorrie, of Dracut, a nephew and a niece, Justin and Mikaela Kasilowski. He is also survived by his aunts, Helen Quigley of Lowell, Maureen Couture of Lowell, Carol Pierce of Pelham, NH and an uncle, Pete McAnespie of Billerica and many cousins and friends.

He was also predeceased by various other aunts, uncles and extended family.

The family would also like to thank everyone at Tufts Medicine Hospice Home Care and especially Keely for her care and compassion during Dickie’s final days.
