Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Fenno) Porter, age 89, a much-loved member and friend to many of the Gatewood
Manor Retirement Community and a resident of Nashua, NH for the past 24 years, formerly of Tewksbury,
passed away at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of 56 years to James R. Porter, Sr., who passed away on August 27, 2011.
Born in East Boston on June 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Concetta (Quartorone)
Fenno.
Betty was raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School.
Following their wedding on April 24, 1955, she dedicated her life to her husband and raising their four
children.
Betty treasured spending time with her family, loved traveling anywhere with family in and outside the
country, watching movies, dining at area restaurants and the companionship of her dog.
She is survived by her four children, Dennis L. Porter and his wife Nancy, of Natick, Denise C. (Porter) Gardner
and her husband Stephen, of Salem, NH, Lisa M. Etheridge and her husband Steven, of Burlington, and James
R. Porter, Jr. and his wife Debra, of Nashua, NH: her grandchildren, Dennis L. Porter, Jr and his wife Keri,
Michael Porter and his companion Lauren Meleshuk, Paul Ricardo and his wife Teresa, Kelley-Lyn Porter,
Nicholas Noel and his companion Erica Carfagno, Ryan Porter and his companion Briana Silck, and Jenna
Porter and her companion Trevor Froburg: her great grandchildren, Faith Ambrose, Kaleigh Letourneau, Anna
Ricardo, Jaclyn and Cole Noel.
Betty was the sister of the late Jerry Fenno.
Calling hours are Wednesday, December 13th, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street,
Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Thursday, December 14th at 9 a.m. at the funeral home,
followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury.
Interment will be held at a later date at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her
memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org
