Joseph N. Adams Jr, 83, of Dedham passed away on December 7, 2023 at Mass General Hospital following a long illness. He was the loving husband of Mary (Maeve) Adams for 55 years.
Joe, affectionately known as “Red”, was a beloved member of the West Roxbury community where he owned Jack Davis Florist for many years. He began his career at the flower shop as a teen, moving his way up to becoming an accomplished designer and ultimately purchasing the shop from his longtime friend Jack.
Joe was known to all to be kind, funny and caring and even up until his last days would try to keep people smiling.
In addition to being a devoted husband to his wife Mary, he was the loving father of Chris Adams of Boston, Nick Adams and his wife Trisha, Jennifer Byrnes of Scituate, and Zachary Adams of Dedham. He was the loving brother of Barry Adams of Brooktondale, NY and Mary Adams of Quincy. Joe was the proud grandfather of Ryan, Patrick, Brendan and Nolan Byrnes, and Nathan and Gavin Adams.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16th at 10 o’clock in Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St. West Roxbury. Relatives and friends invited to attend. For guestbook gormleyfuneral.com.
