LIMINGTON- Winnifred Hazel Norton, age 87, passed away on Dec. 9, 2023.
She was born in Brownfield, Maine on March 15, 1936, a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Hazel (Day) Gammon and is a graduate of Limington Academy.
She will always be remembered for the enjoyment she had gardening and sewing; however, it was her love of her family and grandchildren that was most important.
Winnifred is predeceased by her husband Frank Norton; her son- Jerome "Jerry" Norton; and a granddaughter- Brandy Norton.
She is survived by her children- Janie Gregoire and her partner Andy Bertin, Julie Merritt, Jan Norton and his wife Shirley, daughter in law Melissa Norton and Jacenta Shaffer and her husband Ken; siblings- Wilma Whitten, Nancy Hewson, Linette Pride, and Gregory Gammon; grandchildren- Heather York, Alicia Hubbard, Stephanie Mayberry, Nicholas Merritt, Kayla Cheney, Jonathan Norton, and Brenna Shaffer; and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish.
