Sallie Mae Cockrell Sanderson, 88, of Nashville passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Berrien County Hospital. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Sanderson at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Block House Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Georgia, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Mickey T. Lindsey officiated.
Born April 4, 1917, in Fulton, Mississippi, Mrs. Sanderson was the daughter of the late Henry Cockrell and Mary Buse Cockrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Sanderson. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sanderson is survived by one son and daughter-n-law, Jimmy and Betty Sanderson of Alapaha; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Wilma Dopson of McRae, Charlene and Bobby Bonner of Albany and Peggy and Tom Andrews and Shirley and Robert Trowell, all of Nashville; one brother, Clifton Cockrell of Fulton, Mississippi; and fifteen grandchildren.
