Mary Hope McDaniel Stembridge, 90, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Tift Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Stembridge was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Keith Woods, Chris Woods, Mitchell Oliver, Robbie Oliver and Kyle Stembridge served as pallbearers.
Born August 4, 1914, in Telfair County, Mrs. Stembridge was the daughter of the late John Henry McDaniel and Mary Lynn Hatfield McDaniel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Stembridge, Jr., who passed away in 1992; two sons, Jimmy Dale Stembridge and James Robert Oliver; one grandson, Ritchie Stembridge; seven brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Mrs. Stembridge is survived by two sons, Tony Oliver of Tifton and Kenny Stembridge of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one daughter, Glenda Freeman of Albany; one brother, Eschol McDaniel of Tifton; one sister, Dorothy Sawyer of Alabama; nine grandcdhilren; and ten great-grandchildren.
