Shirley (Hesketh) Dunn, 79, of New Bedford died Thursday June 29, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Dunn.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Connors) Hesketh, she lived in Point Pleasant, New Jersey for many years before returning to live in New Bedford in 1986.
Survivors include a son, John J. Dunn, Jr., of Germantown, MD; two daughters, Peggy Finkenauer of Germantown and Maureen Algor of Manahawkin, NJ; a brother, Thomas Hesketh of New Bedford; a sister, Irene Rose of Taunton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Henry Hesketh, James Hesketh, Vincent Hesketh, Evelyn Inman and Catherine White.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 AM in St. Kilian Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 6-9 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
