Born in Worcester, MA on December 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Valerian P. and Agnes T. (Oveka) Kulesza and grew up in the Vernon Hill section of Worcester. He graduated from the former Saint Mary’s High School, Class of ‘56. During “Sonny’s” high school years he played on the basketball and baseball teams.
