Gail J. (Oliveira) Silva, 64, of Somerset, died November 26, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Steven J. Silva.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Cabral) Oliveira, she lived in Somerset all of her life.
Gail was formerly employed as an accountant for many years.
She enjoyed traveling to Aruba and Foxwoods, loved music, dancing and going to concerts, and was a great cook.
Survivors include her husband Steven; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Barbara (Lopes) Silva; her brothers-in-law, Kim Silva and his wife Cheryl and Kent Silva; her sister-in-law, Gail Fortes; her best friend, Joyce Bandara and her family; several cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the niece of the late Walter Cabral and his wife Josephine, George Cabral and his wife Teresa and Beatrice Nunes and her husband Frank Nunes.
Gail's family would like to send special thanks to all of her doctor's and nurses's at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Charlton Memorial Hospital and St. Anne's Hospital, and to the Somerset Fire Department.
Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 29th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 11 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Rural Cemetery.
