Edith (Monaco) DiMella, age 83, died thursday morning, June 29, 2006 in Medford at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Somerville, Edith was a lifelong Medford resident. She was the loving daughter of the late Michelina (Ciavarella) & Nicholas Monaco.
Edith was raised in Medford and attended Medford public schools. She graduated from Medford High School, class of 1941. Edith attended business school at the Higgins Business School of Boston, graduating in 1943. She was also a member of the Royal House Association.
Edith was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas. Devoted mother of Michelle Ricciardi and Michael DiMella both of Medford. Loving grandmother of Michael DiMella, Lauren DiMella and the late Nicholas DiMella. Sister of Mary Vena of Medford, Albert Monaco of Scituate and the late Michael DiMella, Joseph DiMella, Grace Norcia and Anne Dreano.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, Saturday July 1 at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours have respectfully been omitted. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Edith´s name to the Mystic Valley Elder Services, 300 Commercial St., Suite #19, Malden, MA 02148.
