TEWKSBURY - Janet A. (Forti) Black, age 70, who worked at a Stoneham hospital, died Friday
morning, June 30, at her Tewksbury home, following an extended illness.
She was born in East Boston, July 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Natalie and Rose (DeAngelis)
Forti. She lived the greater part of her life in East Boston, but had resided in Tewksbury since
1969.
She worked as a billing specialist at the Boston Regional Medical Center in Stoneham, formerly
known as New England Memorial Hospital.
She was active in P.W.P. (Parents Without Partners) Billerica/Burlington Chapter, and a
communicant of St. William’s Parish in Tewksbury.
She was loving described by her family as a passionate cook, who had devoted her life to her
family.
She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Doreen Piehota and her husband Stephen of
West Brookfield, MA, Nadine Hagl of Ware, MA, Cheryl Black of Tewksbury, with whom she
resided; four grandchildren, Ricky Henry III, Krystal Henry, Michael Henry, Tyler Hagl; a great
granddaughter, Mya May; a sister and brother-in-law, Paula Donovan and her husband Paul of
Revere; her former husband Alfred J. Black of Wellington, FL; and very dear friend Joseph Massa
of Everett.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, July 3, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
Memorials to the Mass General Hospital, Cancer Center, 32 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114, will be
appreciated.
