Angela (Restivo) Mulcahy, beloved resident of Malden, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023. Her spiritual journey began on May 5, 1933, in Medford Massachusetts. She grew up in Medford before living a lovingly simple life in Malden. Angela was a devoted daughter to the late John and Anna Restivo, a mischievous sister to her brother Carmen, a loving wife to the late Elmer Mulcahy, a caring and supportive mother to her daughter Lisa and sons Leonard ("Lenny") and Neil, an engagingly fun grandma to her five grandchildren Alberto, Gabriel, Elena, Cameron, Chase, great granddaughter Ava and a giving friend to many; all the recipients of that card in the mail celebrating a special occasion, get-well soon or to simply say, I care.
In addition to her devotion to family and friends, Angela was blessed with a creative gift of art. Her talent and lifelong passion started with doodling at home carried into simple classes at Medford High School and blossomed at Massachusetts College of Art, where she graduated in 1955. Angela taught art classes in high school before the nurturing call of children called. But when she was not giving her guiding hand to her three children (four if you include Elmer), or trying to stay out of the cold New England weather (which she didn't like), or cooking one of her comforting Italian meals passed down by her mother, or satisfying her sweet tooth while watching her favorite B/W movies you could find her in her happy place sketching out another piece of art. Over the years these moments of solitude produced amazing treasures that will always be a gift to the family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford on Tuesday, November 28th, from 4 to 7PM and again on Wednesday, November 29th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
