Lillian S. Lagace, 94, formerly of 154 St.Cecile Ave, Woonsocket, died Thursday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitative Center in Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Lagace.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Elphege and Eugenie (Marcotte) Martel. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Lagace worked for the Belmont Woolen Mills for several years, and was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was an auxiliary member of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International. She was a longtime communicant of All Saints Church and helped institute the Divine Mercy devotions at All Saints.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Arthur E. Lagace, Jr., PhD, of Redmond, Washington, a daughter, Jeannine Y. Healy, of Woonsocket, four brothers, Lionel R. Martel, of Florida, Lucien Martel, of Florida, Gerard Martel, of Woonsocket, Paul Martel, of Woonsocket, three sisters, Jeannette Boulay, of Cumberland, Yvette Duhamel, of Cumberland, Pauline Franca, of Woonsocket, 3 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Omer Martel, and Beatrice Jolicoeur. She was the grandmother of the late Jennifer Howard.
Her funeral will be Monday at 9:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm.
