SACO – Jean B. Emerson, age 93, sadly passed away on November 18, 2023.
She was born in Lubec, Maine on May 9, 1930, a daughter of late Earle and Edna (Milligan) Boomer.
After graduating high school Jean continued her schooling at the University of Maine – Orono, and got her master's degree in education. With this, she became a teacher for the Biddeford and Saco public schools. She also was the founder and publisher – editor of the “Northeast Harness News”, a newspaper dedicated to the standardbred racing sport from 1980-1995. She was involved in the First Congregational Church of Saco Maine as well.
Jean became widowed by her husband Chester Emerson, who passed away in 2010.
Jean is predeceased by her Husband Chester W. Emerson, Parents Earle L. Boomer and Edna R. Milligan, and Brother Jay Boomer.
Jean is survived by daughter Janet A. Emerson of South Carolina, daughter Nancy L. Sullivan of Missouri, daughter Linda M. Emerson of Maine, sister Priscilla of North Carolina, grandson Robert B. Emerson of New Hampshire, grandson Jared M. Chapin, and grandson Jamie N. Chapin.
