Grace T. McKain, 73, of Peabody Road, Derry died Monday, November 26, 2001 at Integrated Health services, Derry. She was born in Cambridge, MA on June 19, 1928 a daughter of Evelyn (Walsh) Ray of Quincy and the late Everett Coughlin. She was a resident of Derry for two years, formerly living in Boston. She was employed as a social worker for Boston City Hospital having done much with alcoholics and had helped start Rosie’s Place. She was a recipient of the CASA award for her work.She is survived by four daughters, Susan Billadeau, of Raymond, Alice McKain, Denise Birchmore, Darlene Smith all of Stoughton, MA, one son, Robert McKain of Massachusetts, three grandsons, Ray Cosgrove, of Raymond, Jerry Smith, of Stoughton ,MA, Sean McKain, of Lowell, MA, one granddaughter, Sandra Birchmore, of Stoughton, MA, four sisters, Claire Gaudete, Stoughton, MA, Alice Strausbaugh, of Quincy, MA, Marilyn Scott, of Nottingham, Evelyn Perozzi, of Belmont, Ma, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William McKain.There will be no services at this time. It was Mrs. McKain’s wish to have her remains gifted to the Boston University Medical School for research.
