Obituary

WEBSTER - Eleanor M. (Arsenault) Kus, 91, died Thursday, November 9, 2023 at UMass Harrington in Southbridge after a short illness. Her husband of 51 years, Theodore A. Kus, died in 2002.

She leaves 2 daughters, Marilyn A. Cyr and her husband Paul of Oxford and Patricia A. Hinchliffe and her husband Kenneth of Webster: 5 grandchildren, Christopher P. Cyr and his wife Kerri of Harrisburg, NC, Matthew J. Cyr of Lakeland, FL, Catherine A. Howe and her husband Gary of Riverview, FL, Nathan J. Hinchliffe and his wife Maribel of Roslindale and Aaron K. Hinchliffe and his wife Rachel of Belmont; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashly, Victoria, Jacob, Joshua, Lucas, Lillian, Olivia, Theo, Eden and Mara; a great-great-grandson Ronald; a nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leo and Alfred Arsenault and by her sister Anita Walker.

She was born on September 27, 1932 in the Mapleville section of Burrillville, RI, the youngest child of Albert and Mary (Mayotte) Arsenault and was raised in Webster. She completed the commercial course at Saint Anne’s School.

Mrs. Kus was a folder at the former Cranston Print Works Company for many years before retiring in 1998.

She was a communicant of Saint Louis Church and a member of the former Saint Louis League of Catholic Women. She also counted the weekend collection at the church rectory for many years. She enjoyed her summer home on Webster Lake entertaining her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, taking her daily walks with her good friend and neighbor Bev and loved being surrounded by books.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5 in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Donations in her name may be made to Tri-Valley, 10 Mill Street, Dudley, MA 01571. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street.
