Jack Parker Vandagriff, born on January 22,1943 in Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Sunday evening, November 5, 2023. He was a long-time resident of Methuen, MA.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Pascale) Vandagriff, two daughters, Jessica Bailey and Vanessa Bailey; a granddaughter, Rita (JoJo) Bailey; cousin Mark Parker and his wife Theresa; cousins Dorothy Hight, Rebecca Johnson, and Shirley Gregro; a niece, Melissa Hari; and a nephew, Greg Vandagriff. He was preceded in death by his father, Lillard Vandagriff; mother, Nora (Parker) Vandagriff; and brother, Larry; as well as his uncle Johnny and aunt Sylvia Parker.
Jack received two Masters Degrees, one in History and one in English, from the University of Indiana at Indianapolis. He worked for Conoco, Inc, and was an English teacher at Lynn Classical High School. In his retirement, Jack had jobs at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH, drove a van for North Reading Transportation (NRT), and was a crossing guard for the City of Methuen.
Jack's Memorial Service will be held at Parker Middle School in the Auditorium, 45 Temple Street, Reading, MA on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10:00am, with a repast to follow in the Cafeteria. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jack’s memory to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263.
