Robert Winston Judd, 72, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at his home in the Highlands.

He was born on September 14, 1951 in Dorchester and was one of 13 children of the late Douglas Judd and the late Mary (Shea) Judd. He was raised in Tewksbury and was educated in Lowell before graduating from Lowell Tech in 1970.

Robert was employed as a typeset operator for Courier-Citizen Lowell in the 1970s and continued his career as a mechanical draftsman locally for many years before his retirement. In his younger years, he found joy in playing the guitar and even played in a band, music was his passion. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and rode a Norton throughout the 1970’s.

Mr. Judd was also a talented and hard working boxer. he held the title of Silver Mittens Champion and was also a Golden Gloves Runner-up during the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Robert is survived by his 3 sons, Robert E. Judd and his wife, Nancy J. (Codere) of Lowell, Stephen M. Judd and his wife, Kimberly of Washington, and Kevin J. Judd of Omaha, Nebraska; his 8 grandchildren, Emalee, Jacob, Stephen, Samantha, Trevor, Madison, Connor and Gavin; his 5 great grandchildren, Maycee, Benjamin, Finlee, Payten and Aria and his 11 surviving Judd siblings.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sibling.

On Friday, November 17, 2023 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 3-6 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, 978-458-6816.
