Sherry Baldree Lightsey, 40, of Tifton passed away Monday, April 4, 2005, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John S. Gibbs and Pastor Raymond Lisenby officiating. Ms. Lightsy was laid to rest at Waterloo Cemetery.
Felton Bentley, Michael Stone, Chris Stone, Larry Bentley, Kevin Lightsey and Lance Ferris served as pallbearers. John Powers, III served as an honorary pallbearer.
Born June 13, 1964, in Tift County, Ms. Lightsey was the daughter of Annie Jo Bentley Baldree of Tifton and her step-father, Joseph T. Hester of Columbus. She was a former office manager at Reeves Construction Company; and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton. She was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Carrie Lightsey; and her grandmother, Lillie Mae Bentley, who was a big part of Sherry's life.
In addition to her mother and step-father, Ms. Lightsey is survived by her fiance', Ken Sirmons of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey "Kyle" and Deanna Lights of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina; one step-son, Kevin Lightsey of Orlando, Florida; one step-brother, Ricky Baldree of Tifton; one step-sister, Vicki Hester of Andersonville; one grandson, Dylan Lightsey of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina; a special uncle, Jackie Stone of Tifton; her special cousins, Michael Stone, Chris Stone and Michelle Stone, all of Tifton' and several other special uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
