Eleanor (Manning) Kulig, age 95, passed away on Nov. 7, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. She was born on Dec. 29, 1927 in Springfield, daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Moore) Manning. Eleanor graduated from Cathedral High School and worked for the Chicopee School Department for the majority of her working career. She loved to read, participate in activities at the Chicopee Senior Center, sew, spend time with her family and friends and dog sit. She is predeceased by her husband Stanley J. Kulig who passed away in 1999 and her brothers, Rev. Francis Manning and John Manning. She is survived by her sons Joseph Kulig and his wife Susan of Florence, MA, Michael Kulig of Chicopee and her daughter Ellen Stein and her significant other, Jamie Collins, of Suffield, CT. She also leaves two grandchildren, Christopher Stein and Jeffrey Stein and her close friends, Alice Kovitch and Connie Minnie along with her grand dogs Lucy and Stoney. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by an in house prayer service at 11:00. Burial will take place in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Mills Senior Center, Chicopee Council on Aging, 5 West Main St, Chicopee, MA 01020.
