Maureen C. (Moriarty) Houghton, age 78, passed away on November 6, 2023 at Holyoke Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 10, 1945 in Springfield, daughter of the late James Moriarty and Bertha (Schluder) Fuller. She was a communicant of St Anne’s Church in Chicopee. She worked as a Surgical Technician for Mercy Medical Center for over 20 years before she retired. Maureen was a volunteer for the Cub Scouts and the treasurer for Troop #404. She was also an avid volunteer for the Knights of Columbus Elder Council #69 for many years. She was a member of the Eagles club Aerie 334. Our mom loved her family, music, antique collecting, and animals. She especially loved to travel with her husband. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Brian Houghton of Chicopee; two sons, Brian Houghton Jr and his wife Kerryann of Chicopee and Michael Houghton and his wife Laura of St. Augustine, FL; one daughter, Christine Haley and her husband Paul of Tryingham, MA and four grandchildren, Brittany and her fiancé Daniel, Samuel, Nathaniel and Alex. She is predeceased by her brother James Moriarty. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee.
