Joyce Barbara (Beckel) Mildner, of Newton Centre, a retired sales clerk fro Filenes in Chestnut Hill, died Tues June 27, 2006 at the Stanley Tippett Hospice House in Needham. She was 74.
Born and raised on Long Island NY, she attended Adelphi University. She had lived in Newton for over 40 years and had been an active worker with the Newton Election Commission working the polls at the Mason Rice and Ward Schools. She also was an active volunteer at Sacred Heart Church and the Lutheran Church of the Newtons both in Newton Centre. Joyce had also worked for Ava Botel and Hit or Miss in Needham.
Wife of the late John A. Mildner Jr., she is survived by her children William G. Keeler of Natick, Barbara Keeler Agganis and her husband Charles of Pembroke Pines FL, John A. Mildner III and his wife Ann of Newton Centre and Joy L. Jenkins and her husband Leon of Frankiln; her grandchildren John A. Mildner IV, Patrick M. Mildner, Christopher M. Jenkins, John W. Jenkins and Cynthia J. Jenkins, and her sister Winifred Harries Hambleton of KS.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Thurs June 29 from 4-8 PM. Funeral and interment services will be private.
