Ruth Catherine Cook Hitchcock, 88, of Tifton passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Elder Lee Chambers officiating. Mrs. Hitchcock was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Brent Ireland, Timmy Domingue, Bobby Walker, Reid Jones, Darrell Benson and Roger Walker served as pallbearers.
Born April 16, 1916, in Chula, Mrs. Hitchcock was the daughter of the late James Dawson Cook and Tempie Ritchey Cook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren B. Hitchcock; four brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker; and she served as a Pink Lady at Tift Regional Medical Center. She was also a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Hitchcock is survived by one son, Jimmy Hitchcock of Tifton; one daughter, Harlene Addison of Fayetteville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
