James Donald Holman, 74, of Tifton passed away Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Peach Medical Center in Fort Valley. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Eddie Allen and the Rev. Randall Gay officiating. Mr. Holman was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Stanley Holman, Ricky Holman, Gary Veal, Kasey King, John Stripling and Joe Tinsley served as pallbearers.
Born September 27, 1930, in Sumter County, Mr. Holman was the son of the late Aaron Willis Holman and Lucy Williams Holman. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, James Otto Edwards. He was an independent truck drive; and he was also retired from the Civil Service as a Supervisor at the Marine Corps Logistcs Base in Albany. He was a veteran of the United Sates Navy; and he was a member of Springhill Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Holman is survived by his wife, Sarah Veal Holman of Tifton; one son, Jim Holman of Tifton; two daughters, Cindy Holman and Debra McKerley, both of Tifton; one brother, Windsor Holman of Perry; one sister, Sandra Adams of Macon; and one granddaughter, Brittany McKerley
