Rosie Hate Franklin Herrin, 70, of Nahunta passed away Monday, May 30, 2005, at Southeast Georga Regional Medical Center in Brunswick. A graveside funeral service was held for Ms. Herrin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Omega Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. John S. Gibbs officiated.
Born March 25, 1935, in Worth County, Ms. Herrin was the daughter of the late Morris C. Franklin and Daisy Lee Scott Franklin. She had been a foster parent for 30+ years; and she was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Herrin is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Sandy McCaslin of Maryland and Keith and Jackie Herrin of Nahunta; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Wainwright of Nahunta; one brother, Verl Shorty Franklin of Waynesville; two sisters, Katie Mae Bare of Waynesville and Plumer Smith of Tifton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
