Roger Dale Howell, Sr., 53, of Rochelle passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. officiating. Mr. Howell was laid to rest at Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
\Jamie Sawyer, Fred Howell, Paul Howell, Lee Adams, Ray Adams, Stanley Howell, Nathaniel Sawyer and Kenny Bennett served as pallbearers.
Born January 12, 1952, in Hillsborough County, Florida, Mr. Howell was the son of the late Newton Fredrick Howell, Sr. and Roma Lee Howze Howell. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Connie Sue Howell. He was an auto mechanic and hew as of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Howell is survived by his companion, Etta Mincey of Rochelle; three sons, Roger D. Howell, Jr. of Warner Robins, Matthew Howell of Lakeland, Florida and Lonnie Moates of Rochelle; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rebecca and Tim Bruner of Ty Ty and Gail Lee Hall of Fitzgerald; two brothers, Willie Howell of Waycross and Newton Fredrick Howell, Jr. of Enigma; four sisters, Geneva Alter of Fitzgerald, Mary Adams of Immokalee, Florida, Marie Howell of Tifton and Bonnie Black of Mystic; six grandchildren, Dalton, Terry, Cheyenne, Brandon Thomas, Dustin and Trevor.
