Nellie Claudia Kinsey Hedge, 82, of Tifton passed away Friday, January 7, 2005, at her residence. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Hedge at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Terrell Roberts officiated.
Born January 3, 1923, in Echols County, Mrs. Hedge was the daughter of the late Heber Floyd Kinsey and Lillie Mae Padgett Kinsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Hedge, who passed away in 1978. She was the previous owner of the Dairy Maid/Shady Lane Restaurants; and she was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hedge is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Clifton Whitley of Tifton and Patty and Jim Graves of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Pearl Norman of Moultrie, Carolyn Rivers of Chesterfield, Virginia and Laura and Gill House of Lake Park; six grandchildren, Charles McDaniel, Karen M. Rankin, Thomas McDaniel, Brian McDaniel, Kristy Redlinger and Marcus Redlinger; and six great-grandchildren.
