Thomas Jackson "Jack" Gray, Sr., 78, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 16, 2005, at his residence. A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. Gray at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton, where he was laid to rest. The Rev. Gerald Purvis and the Rev. Eddie Allen officiated.
Born May 5, 1927, in Tift County, Mr. Gray was the son of the late Lydon Jackson Gray and Ruth Evers Gray. Before retiring, he was the Administrative Officer with the Georgia Department of Transportation; and he was of the Methodist faith. He was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs; and he was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Pauline Weaver Gray of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Emily Gray of Tallahassee, Florida and their daughter, Anna, and Tim and Jayne Gray of Tifton anbd their children, Holly, Zack and Liam; and one sister, Helen Branch of Jonesboro.
