Mary Jane Taylor Gill, 94, of Tifton passed away Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005, in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Bill Christman officiating. Mrs. Gill was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Gill's grandson and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born April 16, 1920, in Berrien County, Mrs. Gill was the daughter of the late W. K. Taylor and Jane Hancock Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Gill; one sister, four brothers; one granddaughter; and two grandsons. She was a restaurant operator; and she was a member of Tifton's First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Gill is survived by two sons, Gene Gill of Great Falls, Montana and Sam Gill of Butte, Montana; three daughters and one son-in-law, Ruby and Bobby Hilliard of Sparks, Virginia Davis of Creamery, Pennsylvania and Jane Alexander of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
