Marguerite M. Harrington
Tewksbury Hospital & Shawsheen Tech retiree


TEWKSBURY: Marguerite M. (Quinlan) Harrington, age 91, a resident of Tewksbury for 66 years, and longtime communicant of Saint William’s Parish, passed away at Bayberry at Emerald Court Assisted Living on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Francis D. “Frank” Harrington, who passed away on February 13, 2009.

Born in Cambridge on November 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John J. Quinlan and the late Marguerite (Langley) Quinlan.

Margeurite was raised in Cambridge and graduated from St. Mary of the Annunciation High School.

In 1957, she moved to Tewksbury where she raised her six children.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the communications department at Tewksbury Hospital and Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Billerica.

She was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Walk-In-Center, the Tewksbury V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and active with the annual Tewksbury Blood Drive Committee.

Margeurite enjoyed spending time at home with her family and lunch dates with her many friends.

She is survived by her six children, David F. Harrington, of Tewksbury, Paul S. Harrington, of Windham, NH, Robert M. Harrington, of North Reading, Debra A. Gavin and her husband William, of Tewksbury, J. Brian Harrington, of Ithaca, NY, Kevin W. Harrington and his wife Heather, of Parrish, FL: eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren: her sisters-in-law, Grace Harrington and Beatrice Quinlan: many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Marguerite was the sister of the late John J. Quinlan and Eileen T. Quinlan, and mother-in-law of the late Mary C. (Berube) Harrington.

Calling hours are Friday, November 10th, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Saturday, November 11th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Tewksbury Community Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
