Edward 'EJ" Jakubiak Jr. Veteran

Worcester – Edward “EJ” Jakubiak, 79, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 after a brief illness in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.

EJ is survived by his partner and fiancée of many years, Carol McGrath; his son, Keith Jakubiak and his wife, Stacy of Worcester; Carol’s children, Sean McGrath and his wife, Kim; Megan Corrales and her husband, Alex all of Worcester; grandchildren, Derek Jakubiak of CT, Antonio, Alexy and Alejandro Corrales all of Worcester, and many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Edward S. Jakubiak and Stasia T. (Maskie) Jakubiak. He is also predeceased by his sister, Patricia Jakubiak. He graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in 1962 and then entered the military where he proudly served in the United States Army.

EJ worked for many years in the printing department for the Norton Company, retiring many years ago. He was a longtime member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243 where he served in many capacities, including the position of Exalted Ruler.

He was a passionate fan of the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots. He loved golfing and spending time with Carol and their many friends. He also greatly enjoyed the unconditional love of his dog Bella and dearly missed his pets that preceded him: his dog Sadie and his cat Spunky.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8th at 12 noon in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday before the service from 10 am to 12 pm in the funeral home.
