Bertie Elizabeth Stewart Danforth, 84, of Enigma passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Tift Health Care following a lengthy illness. Her funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2005, at Enigma Christian Church with the Rev. Martin Wilson officiating. Mrs. Danforth was laid to rest at Enigma Cemetery.
Brint Danforth, Daniel West, Kevin Perryman, Farrell Roberts, Llewellyn Roberts and Jock Taylor served as pallbearers.
Born July 17, 1920, in Enigma, Mrs. Danforth was the daughter of the late Jessie A. Stewart and Julia Dean Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Waldoft Danforth; and one sister, Valarie Painter. She was a lifelong resident of Enigma; and she was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Danforth is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger Dale and Brenda Danforth and Michael E. Danforth, all of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Yvetta D. and Chet Kimmell of Tifton; one sister, Ruth Roberts of Enigma; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Julie and Daniel West, Haley and Kevin Perryman, Brint Danforth, Bree Danforth and Hunter Danforth; and two great-grandchildren, West Perryman and Whitney Perryman.
