Betty Jo Hall Burgess, 63, of Tifton passed away Friday, June 24, 2005, at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. John Cone officiating. Mrs. Burgess was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The deacons of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church served as pallbearers.
Born January 16, 1942, in Tift County, Mrs. Burgess was the daughter of the late Thomas V. Hall and Inez Fowler Hall Holton. She was also preceded in death by one son. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by her husband, Gordon Burgess, Sr., of Tifton; one son, Gordon Burgess, Jr. of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Johnny McMillion of Brookfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Sandra Holton of Tifton; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Larry Gunn of Omega and Dorrie and Wayne Harnage of Tifton.
