NEW BEDFORD… Shakira Figueroa Diaz, age 27, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Born in Carolina, PR, Shakira was the daughter of Jose Figueroa and Yesenia Diaz of New Bedford.
Shakira was a kind woman with a heart of gold. She enjoyed working with her hands, creating crafts and jewelry. Shakira always had a great time shopping or going out. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, survivors include: brother, Jose Figueroa Diaz of New Bedford; sister, Yolimar Figueroa Diaz of New Bedford; paternal grandparents, Raul Figueroa and Elizabeth Vazquez of Puerto Rico; maternal grandparents, Angel Luis Diaz and Carmen Rosa Martinez of Puerto Rico; and a nephew.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at 11 AM at Iglesia de Cristo Misionera, 160 Weld Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, MA on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, followed by interment in Rural Cemetery in New Bedford. Visitation will take place at 6 PM at the church on Monday, October 30, 2023.
