Obituary

Robert L. Carr of Shrewsbury formerly of Dedham and South Yarmouth, passed away on June 26 at the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was 86. Mr. Carr was born in Dorchester in 1919 and was the son of the late Lawrence and Katherine (Doherty) Carr. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired salesman for Table Talk Pies of Allston and an employee of B Bus Transportation Authority for the elderly in Yarmouth. Mr. Carr also belonged to the Teamsters Union Local 25 and was a life member of the Dedham American Legion, Post 18.

He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Geden) Carr. He was the devoted father of Robert L. Carr and his wife Maryellen of Dedham, Richard C. Carr and his wife Jacqueline of Woburn, Judith A. Maher and her husband Ted of Millis and Kathleen Delaney and her husband Thomas of Yardville, NJ. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Paul Carr, Harriette McSweeney and Ruth Kimball.

His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham, on Thursday at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wed from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday at 2:15 PM.
