Obituary

David James (D.J.) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on October 20, 2023. D.J. as he liked to be called was born on September 8, 1991 to parent, Gabriele S. James. He was her first born son. D.J. was so amazing. He was the kindest, most gentle, loving, caring and happy young man. He was a huge animal lover who adored his cat, Stormy. D.J. was also a big L.A. Lakers and Red Sox fan. He loved to play games and little pranks and jokes. D.J. was a bright spark in the lives of his family and friends and was a true friend. He was so very excited to start a new job at Whole Foods and he worked so hard to achieve his goals. D.J. loved all holidays, especially Christmas. He enjoyed watching Walker Texas Ranger, Disney Plus and Scooby Doo. He also enjoyed fast food take out and soda. D.J. had the best team of care providers at Mass General Hospital and he very much enjoyed every single visit with every one of his many providers as well as his wonderful teams at Brighton Day Hab and Lifeworks of West Roxbury. He loved and treasured all of his providers greatly. D.J. had a huge, bubbly personality and a bright smile that would light up anywhere he went. If you were having your worst day, D.J. could make it better; always bringing a smile to your face.

D.J. is survived by his dedicated and loving mother, Gabriele; his two younger brothers, Patrick James and Nathaniel James who love him so very much; his grandmother, Katherine; his many aunts and uncles; and his pets especially his cat, Stormy.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate D.J.’s life at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street West Roxbury, Massachusetts 02132 on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 5 PM - 7 PM.
