Obituary

SALEM - Robert “Scott” Hewitt, 47, husband of Gina M. (Theophiles) Hewitt, of Salem, died Saturday, June 24, 2006.

Born in Melrose, he was the son of the late Robert Hewitt, Jr. and son and step-son of Mary Jane (Muise) & Leonard Melanson of Saugus.

He served in the US Army from 1979 to 1982 and was stationed in Germany with Company B, 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry.

Mr. Hewitt was employed as a fork lift driver on the North Shore for many years.

A resident of Lynn for most of his life before moving to Salem in the early 1990's, he was an avid fisherman.

Besides his wife, mother and step-father, he is survived by one son Daniel Hewitt of Beverly, one daughter, Angela Hewitt of Salem, one grandson, Jacob Hewitt of Salem, one brother, Lenny Melanson of Everett, two sisters, Debbie Garofalo of Wilmington, Sherrie Dobbins of Saugus and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 7 pm in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm, prior to the service.
