Lillian M. (O’Donnell) Caeran, 83, of Mansfield died on Sunday June 25, 2006 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Norton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony A. Caeran to whom she was wed to on August 3, 1947. The couple had been married for 27 years at the time of his death in 1974.
Born in Boston, MA on July 15, 1922 she was a dear daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Grant) O’Donnell.
She was educated in Boston schools. A homemaker she had formerly worked serving lunches to the elderly at the Kit Senior House in Dorchester for 18 years.
She was very proud to have raised her family in Southie. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She enjoyed playing Bingo and one arm bandits at the Conn. Casinos. Lillian will be remembered most for her humor and quick wit. She had lived in Mansfield for the past 14 years and had formerly resided in South Boston for 45 years.
She is survived by her devoted children Diane C. Caeran and Maria of Winchendon, Richard A. Caeran and his wife Cheryl of Mansfield and Mary E. Sears and her husband Andrew of Maryland. She was the sister of Mary Sawiski and her husband Paul of New Hampshire and the late William O’Donnell, Charles O’Donnell, Joseph O’Donnell, Grace O’Donnell and Helen Fiore. She was the sister in law of C. Charles Fiore of Belmont. Her cherished grandchildren Michael Caeran, Daniel Caeran, Stephanie Caeran and Laura Caeran all of Mansfield and Nicole Sears and Kristen Sears both of Maryland. Also survived by her special nephew Robert Fiore of Belmont as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday June 30th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St.(Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 29th from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Lillian’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Italian Home for Children 1125 Centre St. Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
